CAD Manager

Position Overview:

KMA Consulting Engineers is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CAD Design Manager to lead CAD operations at our Cherry Hill, NJ office. This is a full-time, in-office position. This role involves overseeing all CAD functions, ensuring quality control (QA/QC) across projects, and providing technical support for civil engineering designs. The CAD Design Manager will manage the mapping group, mentor junior staff, and collaborate closely with project managers and engineers to deliver accurate, high-quality results. The ideal candidate will excel at balancing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee all CAD operations and ensure technical accuracy through comprehensive QA/QC processes.

  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, maintaining high-quality standards and meeting project deadlines.

  • Organize, configure, and maintain project files, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with company and industry standards.

  • Develop and produce planning and design documents for civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects using MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and related software.

  • Mentor and train junior CAD staff, promoting skill development and adherence to CAD best practices.

  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure CAD designs align with project requirements and workflows.

  • Stay current with industry standards, software updates, and best practices to maintain cutting-edge CAD capabilities within the firm.

Requirements: 

  • Proficient in Bentley Products, including MicroStation V8, V8i, Connect 2024, InRoads, OpenRoads Designer, and ProjectWise. Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D in civil engineering applications.

  • Experience with installation, configuration, and standardization of Bentley Products.

  • Familiarity with NJDOT and NJTA CAD Standards. PennDOT CAD standards experience is a plus but not required.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of CAD design experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including land development, site design, and infrastructure projects.

  • Experience configuring CAD files, managing large datasets, and integrating with GIS mapping tools is a plus.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
